My name is Keely F. Mahan and I am proud to be the principal at McDonald Elementary School.  Since I will be working with your most prized possessions, I would like you to know me better. I attended Bloomsburg University where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early and Elementary Education.  I earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Technology from Arcadia University.  I then went on to earn my Administration Certificate from Gwynedd-Mercy College.

I started my career by student teaching at McDonald Elementary School in the fall of 1992 in kindergarten and fifth grade.  After graduating in December 1992, I was hired as a Chapter I Aide at Willow Dale Elementary School where I worked with third and fifth grade students in reading and mathematics.  In September of 1993, I was hired to teach first grade here at McDonald Elementary School.  The following year, I moved into a position in fifth grade, where I taught until May 2004 when I became the principal at Longstreth Elementary School.  I was the principal at Longstreth until October 2008, and then was asked to return as the principal of McDonald.

When I am not involved with professional activities, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Andy, my children Jackson and Rebecca, walking my dog Einstein, reading, doing yoga and playing golf.
