It is my pleasure to welcome you to Willow Dale Elementary School. As assistant principal, it is a distinct honor and privilege to be part of such a truly special place. It is apparent that the high quality of instruction and friendly interactions creates a positive learning environment for all. The 6 Pillars of Characters serve as a foundation for students when interacting with classmates and adults. They are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. These traits guide students in making positive choices in their life.First, I would like to take a moment to share a little of my background. This is my twelfth year within the public education system. I began my professional career working at Wellsboro Area School District, where I was hired as a Read to Succeed teacher assessing and remediating struggling k-1 students with reading skills. In addition, I taught kindergarten for three years. My most recent teaching position was at Central Bucks School District where I taught first and sixth grades. After completing my administrative internship, I took on several leadership roles within this district. This included district level instructional coach, building level technology coach, curriculum revision facilitator, and staff development facilitator. I hold a Master’s degree in educational leadership from Lehigh University certified as a K-12 Principal and Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. The dedicated staff and support personnel strive to meet all children’s needs. This is done through engaging lessons using targeted instruction in a small group setting. A walk through our hallways reveals various learning abilities from the standard-based student work hanging up on the walls. In addition, we prepare ourselves to assist students as they work toward these standards by engaging in conversation with colleagues and by pursuing advanced coursework. Finally, the relationship between home and school is the cornerstone of any successful school. Parents and family members play a vital role in the school community and are always welcome to visit. Another example of this is our Home and School Association. They have continually supported our initiatives while also providing fun activities for students. These partnerships not only create a positive school culture, but ensure that children are put first. We look forward to working with every family this school year, and if you have any questions always feel free to email or call at any time. Sincerely,
Miles Roe
