Computerized Meal System and On-line Payments All the schools have a computerized meal system for tracking and paying for meals. Every student will have a cafeteria account and may deposit into the account whether the student normally pays or receives a free or reduced lunch. Students purchase or acquire meals or snacks by using their student personal ID number which they enter on a pin pad in front of the cash register. This number can be found on the report card. Your help is appreciated to make sure the students memorize their number before school starts. Money is deposited into the account using cash, checks or money orders as the student goes through the line or with the online payment system. Please check the website for information on this online service (Pay-For-It). There is a 5% fee for making credit card payments online, or just a $1.25 flat ACH checking account fee, but setting up an online account is free and being able to check student balances and being able to print out activity reports is free, so it is a great tool. Pre-paying in any manner helps the students avoid losing their money on the way to school, assures where dollars are spent, and speeds lunch lines which is greatly appreciated. Change will not be given for a check or money order deposit. Checks or credit card receipts will serve as the only receipt for account deposits. All checks must be made payable to CSD Cafeteria Account. Please write your child's name and number in the memo portion of the check. Please send separate checks for each child. Students placing $35 on an account at one time will receive a 5% bonus. Bonuses may not be received if money is due on the account and the account is increased by less than $35. This system is a debit system which means that monies should be deposited ahead of service. If a student does not have any monies on their account we will permit the student to charge a meal as a courtesy. If a student charges a meal, a paper notice for parents will be given to the student in the elementary grades. A verbal warning will be given to secondary school students. Once a student has exceeded charging three meals, further meals can be denied. Students will be given the option to call their parents before they do not receive a meal. An alternate meal of cereal and milk may be supplied for a $1 charge. There is no limit to the number of times a student may charge to his/her account, as long as the dollar limit is not exceeded. Students who owe money will not be allowed to purchase supplemental food items ("extras") in addition to the meal. When charges are paid, "extra" items will once again be available to the student. No student will be denied a meal as a disciplinary action. Student accounts carry over with the student to each grade and to each school. Any debits on the account must be paid in full at the end of each year and prior to graduation. Report cards and diplomas may be withheld until accounts are paid. PayForIt.net has options to automatically keep you aware of your account. Go to the “My Account” menu and choose “My Email Options”. The “Guardian Email Options” screen lets you to opt to receive an email if your balance hits a specific level (set by you); if you’d like a monthly update of your balance (you choose the date); as well as other email functions. |
