Working Papers
Working Paper Instructions
The student and/or minor must appear before the ensuing officer; That all papers required by law have been duly examined, approved and filed; that all conditions and requirements are met and that the minor has signed the working permit in the presence of the issuing officer.
Step 1:
Complete the Application by clicking here.: Name, any physical work restrictions, place of residence, place of birth, date of birth, sex, color of hair, and color of eyes.
Step 2:
Proof of age must be provided. Examples:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Baptismal Certificate or transcript passport other documentary evidence
3. Affidavit of parent or guardian accompanied by physician's statement of opinions as to the age of the minor
Step 3:
The signature of the parent, Guardian, or legal custodian* is required to complete the application process**.
For students who attend WTHS completed applications can be emailed clicking here. and once the permit is complete it will be sent back to the student via US mail. Any questions please contact Lisa Dupre at 215-441-6181 ext. 12017.
For Non-Centennial students please complete the application and email it along with proof of age (birth certificate, passport, etc.) by clicking here and the permit will be completed and sent to the student via US mail.
Monday through Friday during the school year: 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM or 2:17 PM to 3:00 PM
During the Summer: Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
*In lieu of a signature under clause (B), the applicant may execute a statement before a notary public or other person authorized to administer oaths attesting to the accuracy of the facts set forth in the application on a form prescribed by the department. The statement shall be attached to the application.
**In compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education a Parent or Guardian is no longer required to sign the application in the presence of the issuing officer.
NOTE: Please allow a minimum of 15 minutes for the preparation of working papers.
Application for Employment Certificate
If your child attends middle school they are to have their working papers issued by the middle school.
Please note we don't take student out of class to complete working papers.
these required procedures are governed by the state of Pennsylvania/Department of Education (the school district processes the working papers, but does not set the procedures or standards).
